Stocking Stuffers Vol.1

December is right around the corner. I sometimes feel it is still too early to be thinking of Christmas, but I know it will creep up fast! I guess it is never too early to start thinking up gift ideas. Here are my first five suggestions for great stocking stuffers!

1. Bobble- A bobble is a great gift! Especially if you have a ecofriendly friend or family member. It is a reuseable water bottle that every few months you just buy a new filter for. You can find these at Old Navy and Target and probably most department type stores. I love my bobble!
2. Tea! I just mentioned this holiday tea in a wishlist post. Celstial Tea is my favorite, and their holiday flavors are gingerbread, candy cane, sugar cookie, and peppermint! Those are perfect holiday tastes.
3. I can never get enough socks in my stocking! During the year I always buy the cheap $1.50 Target socks and get holes in the toes pretty fast. A stocking is a great place for some nice new socks! The three pack of nice neutral colors is from Forever21 and is only $4.50.
4. Essie nail polish or any kind is a good little gift for stockings. These colors are forever yummy, good as gold, and tart deco.
5. Finally car scents from Bath and Body Works! They have adorable holiday scent holders in too, but I already have one so just getting the scent packs is good enough! These scents are holiday and winter. There are scents of all kinds so you can find the perfect smell for everyone!

Hope these inspire you to go out and get great little gifts for your loved ones!

Wish List Wednesday: Winter Wishes

My winter fashion wishes!
-Sweaters! I have been really into the variety and fit of sweaters this season. You could get the oversized sweater or the nicely fitted but still larger sweater. There are many different knit patterns this season too. Not to mention the endless colors, patterns, and prints that have appeared. Sweaters are perfect for winter, they keep you warm and there are so many ways to accessories them!
-Speaking of accessories..I am all about the peter pan collar trend. In the picture I have a pearl necklace as a peter pan collar, but a lot of shirts and sweaters come with their own.
-Nails are a great way to add attitude and personality to your look. Bronze, coppers, reds, and sparkles are big this winter. Essie has a great year round and holiday selection out!
-Leggins are my savior for winter, but sometimes I want to dress a little nice with a skirt or dress. These nude tights are definitely going on my Christmas list. They will keep me warm but also not force me to pick a color or pattern to go with my outfit, sometimes nude is just better.
- I desperately want a belt bag (yes belt bag not fanny pack) for winter. I have enough trouble wondering where my mittens have gone I don't want to have to worry about my purse as well. Also with no purse to carry you can haul around more shopping bags during gift time.
- I know tea isn't a fashion statement, but there is something about carrying around a coffee mug in the winter that is its own fashion accessory. Both these tea flavors (candy cane and gingerbread) will be delightfully warm treats to accent your winter wardrobe.

Tis the Season..To bundle Up!

The first snow fell last night, and to my horror this morning it was still slightly left on the ground. It seems like usual I have forgotten how awful I find winter to be. Sure the snow is pretty, the smells and flavors are delightful, and of course the joys of Christmas day (not all the Christmas chaos leading up to it) but that cold chills me to my very bones. I seem to loose all sense of fashion in the winter. I like layers, I just have never been that great at layering. My best bet at layering is a cardigan over a t-shirt. This chilly season I am going to try and have a decent winter wardrobe. However, this post is all about the outwear a midwest girl needs to keep warm while spending time outdoors.

First things first, a coat. The main source of warmth. I am pretty picky about coats. I have more nice cute fall jackets than winter coats. Sometimes it is hard to find something that is lined well inside and adorable on the outside.

Both these coats are flattering fits, warm material, and super fabulous. Teal and Leopard print are my two favorite accent colors/prints, they are even cute together. I find winter coats to be a bit of an investment. They tend to be a little pricey so you need to make sure the coat will be in style and wearable for multiple years.

After a coat you will need cozy winter accessories. Keeping my hands, face, and ears is my main priority. I just can't stand my extremities being frosty icicles. Winter accessories are also a great way to add personality and color to your outerwear.

Scarves and mittens are my lifesavers. I am not a big hat person, I prefer a cowl. In my old post baby its cowl outside I am wearing the teal cowl my grandma  made for me. Also my lovely friend MaDonna is going to make me a new one too. Sometimes it is hard to pick out accessories because you don't want all your outerwear to not match. I tend to not mind mixing and matching so as long as you own your color palates then I say do what you please. Also I just really want to stay warm.

The final big thing you will need are boots! All the snow, ice, and winter gunk can really do damage to your shoes. I have relearned this lesson every winter. I just don't find most actual snow boots cute. Keeping my toes warm lack when wearing my normal shoes. Feet are a hard thing to handle though, too cold when walking outside, too hot once you find refuge indoors. I am hard to please..

DSW is where I found these few acceptable boots. Lets face it they are not that cute and fashionable, but they are versatile enough to not ruin a charming holiday wardrobe and they are made for the winter terrain and keeping in the warmth. I think the middle pair is my favorite. They don't seem as clunky and I like the slipper-esq of them.

So there you have it, all the necessities to bundle up and make it through this season we are about to plummet into. Stay warm followers!

Halloween, Halloween, Halloween!

Halloween is over and I am pretty bummed. I had a lot of spooky fun this year though. I got to dress up for work all month, eat tasty treats, hand out candy at the mall to trick-or-treaters, and see my friends. I have said it before and I will say it again, what isn't there to love about Halloween!!

Spooky Treats-
I could not get enough fall flavors for Halloween this year! I had many delicious Caramel apple ciders, they were so tasty! Spooky cat cookies were a must for the holiday. Even the frozen yogurt shop got in the spirit and had pumpkin flavored froyo! Nom nom nom!!!

Horror Decor-

What is Halloween without all the decorations??!! Little boy Pi and I went to Emma Crumbies and got some nice little pumpkins. I didn't get to carve any pumpkins this year. I did get a Halloween Micheal Myers tribute tattoo with my dad, our matching kitchen knives. I decorated my room with pumpkins, bats, and skulls and cuddled up to watch Walking Dead. My movie collection didn't grow this year, but I will have to check the Halloween clearance.

Dress up-
Pilot as a giraffe
Vintage Lady

Chaplin & Misty
Cow Kitty Pumpkin
80's
So many McGrubbers...
Dressed as my manager, Pam!
I just love dressing up for Halloween!! Of course I thought of like 20 more ideas of things to dress up as, guess I will just have to wait till next year. What were your favorite costumes this year?

Till next year Halloween...
