GWS Class Activism
Check out my Gender and Women's Studies class blog we made! We all had to take a photo that showed a norm or the breaking of a norm and write a blub on how it inforces or breaks those norms. It was so much fun to be creative and be an actavist! Here is the Blog! Mine is called A women's choice and it is towards the end. Hope you enjoy! And I hope it inspires you to get creative for a good cause!

Stocking Stuffers Vol.1
1. Bobble- A bobble is a great gift! Especially if you have a ecofriendly friend or family member. It is a reuseable water bottle that every few months you just buy a new filter for. You can find these at Old Navy and Target and probably most department type stores. I love my bobble!
2. Tea! I just mentioned this holiday tea in a wishlist post. Celstial Tea is my favorite, and their holiday flavors are gingerbread, candy cane, sugar cookie, and peppermint! Those are perfect holiday tastes.
3. I can never get enough socks in my stocking! During the year I always buy the cheap $1.50 Target socks and get holes in the toes pretty fast. A stocking is a great place for some nice new socks! The three pack of nice neutral colors is from Forever21 and is only $4.50.
4. Essie nail polish or any kind is a good little gift for stockings. These colors are forever yummy, good as gold, and tart deco.
5. Finally car scents from Bath and Body Works! They have adorable holiday scent holders in too, but I already have one so just getting the scent packs is good enough! These scents are holiday and winter. There are scents of all kinds so you can find the perfect smell for everyone!
Hope these inspire you to go out and get great little gifts for your loved ones!

Wish List Wednesday: Winter Wishes
My winter fashion wishes!
-Sweaters! I have been really into the variety and fit of sweaters this season. You could get the oversized sweater or the nicely fitted but still larger sweater. There are many different knit patterns this season too. Not to mention the endless colors, patterns, and prints that have appeared. Sweaters are perfect for winter, they keep you warm and there are so many ways to accessories them!
-Speaking of accessories..I am all about the peter pan collar trend. In the picture I have a pearl necklace as a peter pan collar, but a lot of shirts and sweaters come with their own.
-Nails are a great way to add attitude and personality to your look. Bronze, coppers, reds, and sparkles are big this winter. Essie has a great year round and holiday selection out!
-Leggins are my savior for winter, but sometimes I want to dress a little nice with a skirt or dress. These nude tights are definitely going on my Christmas list. They will keep me warm but also not force me to pick a color or pattern to go with my outfit, sometimes nude is just better.
- I desperately want a belt bag (yes belt bag not fanny pack) for winter. I have enough trouble wondering where my mittens have gone I don't want to have to worry about my purse as well. Also with no purse to carry you can haul around more shopping bags during gift time.
- I know tea isn't a fashion statement, but there is something about carrying around a coffee mug in the winter that is its own fashion accessory. Both these tea flavors (candy cane and gingerbread) will be delightfully warm treats to accent your winter wardrobe.

Tis the Season..To bundle Up!
The first snow fell last night, and to my horror this morning it was still slightly left on the ground. It seems like usual I have forgotten how awful I find winter to be. Sure the snow is pretty, the smells and flavors are delightful, and of course the joys of Christmas day (not all the Christmas chaos leading up to it) but that cold chills me to my very bones. I seem to loose all sense of fashion in the winter. I like layers, I just have never been that great at layering. My best bet at layering is a cardigan over a t-shirt. This chilly season I am going to try and have a decent winter wardrobe. However, this post is all about the outwear a midwest girl needs to keep warm while spending time outdoors.
First things first, a coat. The main source of warmth. I am pretty picky about coats. I have more nice cute fall jackets than winter coats. Sometimes it is hard to find something that is lined well inside and adorable on the outside.
Both these coats are flattering fits, warm material, and super fabulous. Teal and Leopard print are my two favorite accent colors/prints, they are even cute together. I find winter coats to be a bit of an investment. They tend to be a little pricey so you need to make sure the coat will be in style and wearable for multiple years.
After a coat you will need cozy winter accessories. Keeping my hands, face, and ears is my main priority. I just can't stand my extremities being frosty icicles. Winter accessories are also a great way to add personality and color to your outerwear.
Scarves and mittens are my lifesavers. I am not a big hat person, I prefer a cowl. In my old post baby its cowl outside I am wearing the teal cowl my grandma made for me. Also my lovely friend MaDonna is going to make me a new one too. Sometimes it is hard to pick out accessories because you don't want all your outerwear to not match. I tend to not mind mixing and matching so as long as you own your color palates then I say do what you please. Also I just really want to stay warm.
The final big thing you will need are boots! All the snow, ice, and winter gunk can really do damage to your shoes. I have relearned this lesson every winter. I just don't find most actual snow boots cute. Keeping my toes warm lack when wearing my normal shoes. Feet are a hard thing to handle though, too cold when walking outside, too hot once you find refuge indoors. I am hard to please..
DSW is where I found these few acceptable boots. Lets face it they are not that cute and fashionable, but they are versatile enough to not ruin a charming holiday wardrobe and they are made for the winter terrain and keeping in the warmth. I think the middle pair is my favorite. They don't seem as clunky and I like the slipper-esq of them.
So there you have it, all the necessities to bundle up and make it through this season we are about to plummet into. Stay warm followers!

Halloween, Halloween, Halloween!
Halloween is over and I am pretty bummed. I had a lot of spooky fun this year though. I got to dress up for work all month, eat tasty treats, hand out candy at the mall to trick-or-treaters, and see my friends. I have said it before and I will say it again, what isn't there to love about Halloween!!
Spooky Treats-
I could not get enough fall flavors for Halloween this year! I had many delicious Caramel apple ciders, they were so tasty! Spooky cat cookies were a must for the holiday. Even the frozen yogurt shop got in the spirit and had pumpkin flavored froyo! Nom nom nom!!!
Horror Decor-
What is Halloween without all the decorations??!! Little boy Pi and I went to Emma Crumbies and got some nice little pumpkins. I didn't get to carve any pumpkins this year. I did get a Halloween Micheal Myers tribute tattoo with my dad, our matching kitchen knives. I decorated my room with pumpkins, bats, and skulls and cuddled up to watch Walking Dead. My movie collection didn't grow this year, but I will have to check the Halloween clearance.
Dress up-
I just love dressing up for Halloween!! Of course I thought of like 20 more ideas of things to dress up as, guess I will just have to wait till next year. What were your favorite costumes this year?
Till next year Halloween...

Blissful Fall
Fall is easily my favorite season, and over the past few years October has become one of my favorite months. I have always loved Halloween, but the rest of October never seemed much different than the rest of fall. I learned it is the best time in fall. The past few years the weather has been delightful through October and it is when things are so pretty and finally feeling the fall spirit.
The colors of fall are so beautiful! I have been trying to spend as much time outside or at least admiring nature as I can. Sunny days make all the colors of the leaves pop and the sky seems more blue this time of year. I got a nice fall inspired manicure with an autumn red and pumpkin orange glitter colors.
Of course another fall favorite is the flavors of fall! I have been having all kinds of pumpkin fraps, coffees, and pastries! I love going to coffee shops extra this time of year to get fall flavors and enjoy the atmosphere and read/do homework. Halloween has been popping up everywhere and I couldn't be more thrilled! I am like a little kid in a candy store when I hit up Halloween isles. There is even Halloween art up at the coffee hag! Also since leaves have changed and started to fall I think it is about time to rack up a pile and jump in it!
With the change of season came a self change. I cut off my hair and dyed it ombre! I have never had hair so light before. It was a good change for the season and for my life changes.

My Fall Play List
Well it is finally that time of year, FALL!! The weather has been perfect here, brisk yet still warm, sunny with just enough wispy clouds making all the fall colors pop. Fall is the start of no radio season for me. Fall and Winter are the two seasons I want to set the mood with my tunes instead of hear the hits all day long. Here are my tunes for getting me into the Fall mood...
Some of these artists are similar, I like kind of slower indie dark and moody songs for fall. Lana DelRey, She and Him, Pulp, and Kate Nash fight in that category. M.I.A. and Santigold are my pump up and jam a little on those sunny Fall drives. Too much depressed romance music can put you a little too much in that dark mood, so you need some loud girl power in there.
Some other artists who appear during Fall-
-ABBA
- Beatles
- She wants revenge
- Yeah yeah yeahs
- Talk radio (like real talk radio, not a band)
What artists and songs make you think of fall?

Inspiration Quote
I just got home from a weekend trip to Arizona! I had never been there before so I was pretty excited. I was also excited because I went with my mom, step dad, and foster brother to visit my old foster Siblings (the ones I sent my bats and bubbles post to). I will have a post to share some of that trip soon. What this post is about is a little quote that I thought about a lot today. I had a three hour flight, a two hour wait, and an hour and a half bus ride home. I was watching season 6 of Skins and listening to some Kate Nash today. I was put in a very odd mood, almost like I knew exactly who I was and saw myself as a total stranger at the same time. Anyway it reminded me of this quote I found on the postsecret website a few years ago..
I like this post secret a lot. It means something very different to me than it did when I was in the early years of high school. Back then I was waiting for a man, waiting for someone to help me find myself and to be with. Now it means more than that. It means I only need myself to be me and grow. I am waiting to experience new things, to see new things, and to take on life in my twenties. It is one of those things to think about on those days when you are in a funk but in a good way. Sometimes getting blue is what makes you get to the happiest.
Hope this helps with Monday fog and any life troubles.

What I Wore
Hello everyone! Classes have started and I have had my nose in a book or been taking notes since the start, so my blog time has been cut. I have a little time now to share an outfit I wore and can't wait to rock again! Enjoy!
Top: TJ Max
Skirt: TJ Max
Boots: Forever 21
Earrings: Ragstock
Can fall weather just be here already? This is yet another one of my fall inspired looks that I can't wait to ware more once it cools down a little. These are one of my favorite pairs of boots and they go with almost anything. I was inspired to buy these earrings from watching the tv show 21 Jumpstreet. Judy from it wears so many long crazy earrings and it adds a fun edge and playful look to an outfit. Well back to school work and waiting for fall! Have a good weekend!
